HonorHealth Cancer Care
Making great care possible is only the beginning!
Making great cancer care possible is only the beginning!
Every two minutes a woman in the U.S. is diagnosed with breast cancer. Last year, we made great strides in helping the women of our community in their fight against this disease.
HonorHealth sees 38 percent of breast surgery patients in metro Phoenix, more than any healthcare system in Arizona. Your generosity launched an expansion of HonorHealth Cancer Care, bringing the breast health team together under one roof — because clinical collaboration improves outcomes!
And while we are proud of all we accomplished helping women dealing with a breast cancer diagnosis, we are equally dedicated to treating cancer in all its forms. HonorHealth was the first comprehensive cancer center established in the Valley, where 45 percent of all patients with cancer in the Valley receive at least part of their treatment.
We know it can be daunting with so much to worry about beyond the disease itself. That’s why our Nurse Navigators are available to guide each patient through their unique cancer journey.
Our team of compassionate navigators walk beside them, answering questions, providing information, tracking progress, securing resources and working closely with care teams to ensure the experience is seamless across the full continuum of care.

Because of You
While patients may still experience some hair loss during cancer treatments, we strive to empower them to manage their side effects and thrive during and after therapy.
Your generosity provided this revolutionary, FDA-cleared scalp cooling technology that helps patients maintain their hair follicles. The device brings scalp temperatures down to 65 degrees before, during and after treatment. The cold temperature prevents hair follicles from absorbing as much chemotherapy to preserve the patient’s hair. This portable unit eliminates the need for prolonged stays in the infusion center by using a combination of refrigeration, ice and isopropyl alcohol to circulate fluid around the scalp.
The unit allows patients the freedom to leave the headgear on during what could be an eight-hour treatment.
The difference you make
As a nonprofit, community-based healthcare system, HonorHealth relies on your kindness and generosity to help provide the exceptional care you and your family expect and deserve.
Every patient’s experience with HonorHealth Cancer Care is made possible through philanthropy. Because of you, we remain committed to building stronger, healthier communities together.
When you give through HonorHealth Foundation, you support more than great care. Your contributions improve health and well-being, fuel medical breakthroughs, advance innovative research and transform lives across our community and beyond.
Our vision for advancing cancer research and care requires the support of donors like you. We profoundly thank you for making your gift and joining HonorHealth Cancer Care in helping to defeat this devastating disease!
Your generosity in action
With no history of breast cancer in her family, Cathy was shocked by her diagnosis: Triple Negative, Stage 2, among the most aggressive breast cancers.
Cathy was quickly referred to HonorHealth Cancer Care and met her team, including an oncologist, breast surgeon, radiation oncologist and navigator. But her fight required even more.
She underwent a lumpectomy and breast reconstruction and started radiation a couple weeks later, followed by chemotherapy.
With a previous career as a pharmacist, Cathy had enough clinical knowledge to understand the odds of recovery, the toll chemo could take and that nutrition can make a big difference in how your body responds.
“All of the physicians and their team approach was very important to my outcome,” says Cathy, now five years cancer-free. “Just as important was the support I received from so many team members who helped me navigate this challenging time with a positive mental attitude. They introduced me to yoga and meditation classes, knitting, fitness and cooking classes as a way to support my own healing. A dietitian assisted me with my nutrition while on chemotherapy. Perhaps as a result, I experienced minimal side effects from chemotherapy.”
While attending the HonorHealth programs, Cathy met dozens of other patients with cancer on a similar journey to her own.
“Patients observe and talk to each other. This was invaluable — to share thoughts, concerns, fears and advice,” Cathy recalls. “The environment created at HonorHealth made the journey one of the more positive experiences in my lifetime. And one that can be replicated for others.”
