Dr. Erkut Borazanci's Grand Canyon hike for cancer research

Support HonorHealth Research Institute cancer research with a donation in honor of a one-day, Rim-to-Rim Grand Canyon hike on Saturday, September 23, 2023.

The hike is being led by Dr. Erkut Borazanci, Research Director of the HonorHealth Research Institute's Cancer Research Division, Dan Mocan, a Research Institute cancer research nurse, Dan's wife, Sarah, along with the son and daughter-in-law of Gayle Jameson, NP, a research nurse practitioner in the Research Institute's Cancer Research Division.

The 25-mile trek begins with a descent of more than one mile in elevation from the North Rim of the Grand Canyon along the North Kaibab Trail, down to the Colorado River at Phantom Ranch. The hikers will then ascend almost a mile in elevation along the Bright Angel Trail, from the Colorado River to the South Rim.

This will be the fourth major hike in the Canyon by Dr. Borazanci — although the first done as a fundraiser!
