The HonorHealth Foundation Advancing Philanthropy Physician Award recognizes and honors outstanding physicians who support the HonorHealth culture of philanthropy through engagement with the Foundation, support for priority initiatives, donor referrals, personal giving and advocacy for HonorHealth Foundation.

Nomination Guidelines
All Medical Staff and retired HonorHealth physicians are eligible. Nominations can come from HonorHealth and affiliated staff or by self-nomination. Nominations should be compelling and complete and specifically describe the nominee's activity and action in philanthropy, leadership, volunteerism and advocacy.

 Leadership

• Nominee supports HonorHealth Foundation’s mission and serves as an ambassador for philanthropy to fellow physicians, staff, patients and the community.
• Introduces external contacts to HonorHealth Foundation for potential philanthropy, e.g., vendor introductions, tables for fundraising events, etc.
• Chairs/Co-Chairs a committee or group that supports philanthropy at HonorHealth.

 Volunteerism

• Participates in donor meetings/tours. Helps educate donors and Foundation staff through presentations to donors/Foundation Staff in support of philanthropy.
• Makes presentations to major donor prospects at salons. Meets with prospective donors to help inspire their giving major donors.
• Participates in meetings, dinners or events to express gratitude to high-level donors.
• Dedicates time volunteering at HonorHealth community programs.

 Advocacy

• Connects the Foundation with others in the organization or community to benefit philanthropy.
• Creates opportunities for the Foundation to expand its reach internally and/or externally.
  
  

 Philanthropy

• A physician with an exceptional generosity through cash gifts, pledges or planned gifts to HonorHealth Foundation in support of HonorHealth programs and services
• Grateful Patient referrals to HonorHealth Foundation.
• Engagement with Foundation programs or events, e.g. assembling tables at Foundation events, promoting employee annual giving program among staff.
  
  

2025 APPA Award Timeline
Nominations must be received by August 29, 2025!

• August 1-29, 2025
  Nominations open. Notifications and announcements go out to staff via HonorHealth Hub, physician newsletters and personal email.
• September 2025
  All nominations are reviewed and winners are selected by the Foundation and select Medical Staff leaders/physicians.
• Late 2025
  Announcement and presentation to honorees.
